Anthony Gerald “Jerry” Shea Sr., 77, of Gilpin Twp., PA, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

A son of the late Anthony John (Sieja) Shea and Veronica (Cosson) Shea, he was born December 26, 1940 in Tarentum, PA.

Jerry was an active member of the Leechburg Elks, serving many years as one of its Trustees.  He was also a member of the Schenley American Legion and the Gilpin Rifle Club.  Jerry served an enlistment in the U.S. Army with travels across the country and to Korea.  Afterwards, Jerry worked 40 years at Allegheny Ludlum retiring in 1996.  Jerry was an avid sportsman his entire life both hunting and fishing.  In retirement, Jerry could be found at the pavilion by his pond with a fire going talking to family and friends from the neighborhood.  He was a devoted father and grandfather spending lots of time with his grandchildren. 

Survivors include his sons, Anthony G. Shea Jr. (Kerry Tiedemann) of Gilpin Twp., PA, John C. Shea (Christine Rock) of Gilpin Twp., PA; a daughter, Diana L. Shea of Kittanning, PA; and five grandchildren, Anthony G. III, Megan, Ellie, Abigail and Shyanna.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Rose Marie Shea; and a sister, Dolores Shea Evans.

Visitation and ceremonies will be private at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) with the Reverend James V. Arter III officiating.  Private interment will be made at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Road, Lower Burrell.
