Aldo A. Caviggia, 82, of Allegheny Twp., PA, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at West Haven Nursing Home in Washington Twp.

A son of the late Peter Caviggia and Cesarina (Vigna) Caviggia, he was born October 28, 1934, in Leechburg, PA.

Aldo was a U.S. Army Reserves veteran who was employed by the former Hyde Park Foundry.  He was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Twp., the Leechburg Marconi Club and the Leechburg Elks Lodge 377.  Aldo played trumpet in the Johnny Murphy Band and Orchestra.  He enjoyed bowling, bocci, golfing and horse racing.  Aldo was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan.

Survivors include cousins, Mary Purificato (Lou) and Helen Lockard, all of Vandergrift, PA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sergio Caviggia in 2003.

Friends welcomed by his family on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 10 AM until the time of funeral ceremonies at 11 AM at Clawson Funeral & Cremation Center, 170 Main Street, Leechburg (724-842-1051) with the Reverend Ronald Cyktor officiating.  Private interment will be held at St. Catherine Cemetery, 614 Evergreen Road, Gilpin Twp.
